Ally protects copyrighted material by only making alternative formats available for original files and by requiring students to enroll in a course in order to access these formats. Additionally, Ally will not produce alternative formats for linked materials or documents with metadata that states no derivatives can be generated. All materials uploaded and attached within a course must be original, BU owned, or have permission for distribution on file.  

Licensed documents obtained through third party database vendors housed within Blackboard are protected under U.S. copyright law.  No part of these contents may be transmitted in any form or by any means without written permission of the publisher or copyright owner.
